In order to temporarily disable protective functions of Norton 360, Smart Firewall and Antivirus Auto-Protect can be disabled by right clicking onto the Norton 360 tray icon and then by selecting disable options for both of these features. If this action does not help, Norton 360 service can be disabled, required action performed, and then the service enabled again.

Note: An unprotected computer is vulnerable to many dangers like viruses and other threats.
